Horizontal Pentatonic Scale Guitar Tab
The horizontal pentatonic scale spans 3 octaves and maintains the same fret-hand finger structure in each octave. This means in each octave you’ll play 3 notes on one string and 2 notes on the other string.

How to Play Shape 1
Low E String: Place your index finger (1) on fret 3, then play fret 5 with your ring finger (3).
A String: Place your index finger (1) on fret 3, play fret 5 with your ring finger (3), then slide up a whole step to fret 7.
Continue to use your index and ring fingers to play the shapes at each new octave.
How To Play Shape 2
Low E String: Place your index finger (1) on fret 5, play fret 8 with your pinky finger (4), then slide up a whole step to fret 10.
A String: Place your index finger (1) on fret 7, then play fret 10 with your pinky finger (4).
Continue to use your index and pinky fingers to play the shapes at each new octave.
