Lick 1
This is a simple sextuplet lick based on the first position of the Phrygian dominant scale. Play it using hammer-ons or alternate picking.
Lick 2
This is a descending Phrygian dominant lick, and, like the first example, it’s based on position 1. This is a great lick for practicing hammer-ons and pull-offs.
Lick 3
This lick will help you visualize Phrygian dominant on a single-string, where the root note, “A”, is the open string. It’s also a fun riff-writing exercise for Phrygian dominant. Play it with alternate picking.
